The weather heated
up Sunday and so did
the fishing for big
bass, as Thadeus
Ragan and Linda
Robinson caught
19.94 pounds of fish
to top a 49-boat
field and win the
third King of the
Glades 4 qualifier
tournament out of
Everglades Holiday
Park.
Ragan and Robinson
used Venom Frogs to
catch their fish in
the morning, then
switched to jigs to
catch fish in the
canals along
Alligator Alley.
They won $1,000 and
earned a spot in the
trail's May 2
classic.
Ray Peterson and
Bill Davis were
second at 16.42 to
win $500, followed
by Steve McDonald
and Steve Papp at
16.22, Justin
Felzetti and Mike
Menke at 15.62 and
Bruce Swain and
Wayne Fellows at
14.99.
Papp had the biggest
bass at 6.52. Davis
had the second
biggest at 6.5. The
final qualifier
event is April 4.

along Alligator
Alley to win the

tournament out of
Everglades Holiday
Park. Greg Swinea
was second at 10.98
using a Gambler Big
Easy swimbait and a
Giggy Head around
lily pads on the
Alley. Jim Wiese was
third at 10.65
pitching a plastic
worm to the lily
pads. Carlos Suche
had the big bass at
4.45 flipping a
Gambler BB Cricket.

Fellas,
Yesterday Outcast Bass Anglers had our second
tournament of the
year on Candlewood
Lake in Connecticut.
With water temps in
the low 60's we all
know bass will be in
the shallows.
Despite knowing
there
were bedding fish, I
didn't site fish due
to the water
being a little murky
and windy blowing
15-20 for a good
part of the day. I
opted to work the
inside weed edges
just next to all
possible spawning
flats. I pitched a
4inch VENOM TUBE in
green pumpkin/
copper flake
t-rigged with a 1/4
oz. tungsten bullet
and a 4/0 hook. They
absolutely wrecked
it all day! I had
about 20 keepers and
went through a dozen
tubes. I finished in
1st place with 13.9
lbs.. This smallie
was tx. lunker and
weighed 4.9 lbs.
As always, I thank VENOM LURES for allowing me to
represent and for
the RIDICULOUSLY
GREAT FISHING
CATCHING BAITS!!!
Thanks, Mike
Wiltshire

Venom Strikes again,
with all of the
wacky weather the
water is still
alittle chilly down
here but Venom did
me right!
I finished 2nd in a
recent event with
first only being .03
pounds away! The
Dream Craw was
Killer! Admittedly I
have not fished it
as much as I should.
Used the roadkill
color (with died
chartreuse tips) to
slam big fish of the
day and nearly the
win! Great Bait

tournament, Holiday

First place for the
tournament plus 2nd
biggest at 7.33. Big
bass was 7.42 and
our biggy spit out a
bluegill in the
livewell. The
bluegill was worth
2-3 ounces and there
went big bass. Will
send copy of
newspaper article
when it comes out.
Thadeus is really
good, expect an
order for more piggy
grubs very soon.

The ice has melted
so we went out for
the first time
fishing tonight
after work. I caught
a 12" bass my first
cast and nothing
else. Billy caught
two less than 1 lb.
each. Trey fished
patiently for an
hour without even a
bite and then landed
this nice one.
Probably 3 1/2 lbs.
He set the hook hard
and even got it in
through lots of
brush in the water.
He's going to show
us up again this
year!

Outcast Bass Anglers
had our Classic on
the Mohawk River in
upstate NY. The top
ten anglers for the
year qualify for the
Classic. I finished
second for the year
in the AOY race. I
don't like second
and was on a
mission. I arrived
on Friday for one
day of practice. Not
knowing the 10 mile
section of river I
covered as much
water as possible
looking for fish and
options. I got on
some quality fish
and probably had
17lbs. for the day.
On day 1 one I put
the first few fish
in the box on a
spinner bait and a
jerkbait. A small
SWEET DREAMS on a
jighead also put a
keeper in the well.
I found some trees
on an outside
channel bend that
looked promising
considering that I
like wood in the
fall and most wood I
found was on
extremely shallow
flats. This one tree
fell into 10 fow. I
picked up my VENOM
3/8 BLACK AND BLUE
JIG and pitched it
to the outside limb.
Got a small tick and
set the hook. In a
minutes I had my
hands gripping a
5.13 largie. This
would be tx. lunker.
I weighed 16.03 for
the day 1 lead. Up
by over 4lbs. I was
some what confident
going into Sunday.
On day 2 it was only
33 degrees out and
the water dropped to
49.5. This was a 3
degree drop. I could
manage 1 keeper on
the spinner bait
along with huge
pickerels and a
walleye. I knew I
had to change. I
stuck a 4.8 lb
largie on a spider
in 12 ft.. I then
ran to a small
island that butts up
to the channel. I
flipped my VENOM JIG
to some of the only
"good" grass I could
find and stuck a
smallie just shy of
3 lbs.. On the
channel side I hit a
keeper largie on the
VENOM JIG. Knowing
the guy in 2nd was
on fish I knew I
needed another good
one. With 7 minutes
to go I find a tree
on a rock point with
8 feet on it. I
throw the VENOM JIG
to the biggest limb
and my line swims
off. A 3 1/2 lb.
largie helps me get
rid of a 1.05 from
the well. I weigh
13.8 lbs. on day 2.
I finished up just
shy of 30 lbs. for
the 2 days and
claimed the top spot
as Classic Champ by
over 8 lbs!
Just want to thank
Venom Lures for
great products and a
great jig that is
already winning
tournaments and
putting lunkers in
the boat!
Thanks,
Mike Wiltshire

The "go

lure of
choice
for me
would be
the
Venom

Skip

Partnering
this
with the
5/0
Death

Hook.
The
hooks
ultra
sharp
but
light

allows
for the
"natural"

flourish.
No more
spinning
